Medscribbler preview at HIMSS

BrunMed, Inc. previewed today at the HIMSS conference in Orlando, Florida the up-coming release of Medscribbler, the first electronic medical record (EMR) designed and built to take full advantage of the new Tablet PCs and the Microsoft Windows® XP Tablet operating system.

“Medscribbler is aimed at finally providing a way for physicians without an EMR to move away from paper without the pain or cost of complicated “point and click” software.” said Michael Milne, CEO of BrunMed. “The key in the design was the physician, we avoided making the the physician follow the software but made the software follow the physician.”

Medscribbler doesn’t just use the Tablet PC but is designed to take full advantage of the Tablet computer’s handwriting and handwriting to text abilities,” said Milne. “These abilities are embedded as key features and are not just add-ons.”

Medscribbler requires a Tablet PC for handwriting entry, was developed with the Microsoft® Tablet SDK, high level programming tools and comes with a MySQL® database.
