Thu, 25 Aug 2005BrunMed, Inc. with its electronic medical record (EMR), Medscribbler, was chosen to be featured as ?the EMR of the future? at the Microsoft Healthcare Users Group, MS_HUG Tech Forum held on the campus of Microsoft in Redmond, Washington.
Ken Vassallo, a Microsoft Tablet PC Technology Specialist used Medscribbler in his well attended presentation ?Creating a Productive Healthcare Computing Environment with the Tablet PC? His session focused on how Tablet PCs allow caregivers to carry a powerful PC instead of a clipboard or stack of patient files ? bringing real-time patient information to the point-of-care.
?We were happy Medscribbler was chosen to demonstrate its embedded handwriting capabilities on the Tablet PC and its potential to finally move healthcare in a sustained way into computerized patient records.? said Michael Milne, CEO of BrunMed. ?Medscribbler is just the first EMR to exploit the handwriting paradigm, more software companies will start to realize the potential of Windows handwriting.? The 85% of primary care physicians without an EMR finally have a way with Medscribbler to move to a computer record at an acceptable comfort level, said Milne.
Medscribbler requires a Tablet PC for handwriting entry, was developed with the Microsoft® Tablet SDK, high level programming tools and is suitable for various clinic sizes. Information about Medscribbler can be viewed at www.medscribbler.com
BrunMed, founded in 1999, is a software development and consultancy company specializing mainly in mobile Tablet PC products in the health care industry. As one of the few companies worldwide with viable enterprise level Tablet PC software with built in handwriting recognition and handwriting to text conversion BrunMed also offers this expertise for custom software.
